Call of the Gurdwara...

Always Going On...

I met Chris in Singapore during my ’97 trip. I was wandering, looking for a guru, looking for a spiritual discipline, just experiencing Allah’s creation. Now in ’00 I’ve joined him in his mission to revive the vanishing arts of Sikh sacred music. I once wondered that if I followed the way of the Sikhs, would I loose other paths? Well, a Sikh is a seeker and a doer. As long as I’m here, I shall follow the path that Allah sets before me. God is great. My feet are upon your path, lead me were you will…

My Sikh name comes from two good mates, Nirmal ji and Sardool ji. When I was blessed by Guru ji and became keshdhari, I asked to be given a Sikh name by these two good people. Sardool ji said, “’Fateh’, for it is a victory that you become a Sikh this day.” Nirmal ji responded. “I should be ‘Gurfateh’, for it is not our victory, but Vaheguru’s.”

The Magic of God

"If I can put one touch of a rosy sunset into the life of any man or woman, I still feel that I have worked with God."
- G. MacDonald.

"We are rich only through what we give; and poor only through what we refuse and keep."
- Madame Swetchine.

"I always take pleasure from seeing a Sardar ji in turban. It's a beacon of hope."
- G. P. Singh.

Of Turbans and Friendship

A putgar tied for friendship
is far more pleasing to the Guru
than the most glorious pugaree
tied for show
