ACURA CL
The Acura CL has a 2.3 liter VTEC inline-4 engine that produces a good 150 horsepower; comparable to some
sportscars.  Seating five, this is a quiet, reliable coupe for a reasonable price.

Q Evaluation:
The Acura is a nice, moderately-priced car with a sports car's feel to it.  It was considered, with several others
as an embassy car standard.  Q
 

ASTON-MARTIN DB7
Traditional styling and modern design have been blended to create a modern car with an old-time elegence.
Interior is the standard leather and walnut trim, but with eith an inline-6 twin turbo (with 335 hp) or V-12 engine
(delivering 450 hp).  Handling is superb, comfort is first rate, style is incomparable.

Game Information
The second rank represents the V-12 option.  It also gain a +1 for flee/escape maneuvers, but looses the +1 QT bonus of the
V-6, due to weight distribution changes.

Q Evaluation:
I've always loved the performance and comfort of an Aston-Martin.  My DB5 has been with me a long time and I'm not
in a hurry to give her up.  However, the DB7 is a new breed of car -- combining the DB5's style with modern conveniences
and performance.  Quite possibly the best they've ever built.  007
 

ASTON-MARTIN V-8 VOLANTE
Through the 1980s this was the flagship of the A-M line.  It is similar to the DBS and other 1970s A-Ms.  It is a 2+2, like
the DBS and the DB7; the two rear seats, however, are more of an idea than a reality.  The V8 also came in the Vantage --
a convertible.  Leather and walnut trim, of course.  The model was discontinued in favor of a new V8 design.

Q Evaluation:
We had an absolutely lovely Vantage that we had kitted out for the worst-case senario we could think of.
Cpt. Roberts called it 'the Aston from hell'.  Unfortunatly, we did not factor in 007's driving it into a snowbank and
detonating her.  Q
 

AUDI A6
The new A6 Quattro is one of the most popular cars in Europe and is comparable to the BMW 528i.  There are lots of
technical advances:  side and front impact airbags, ABS brakes, CD player, etc. and is very spacious.  Sporty good looks
round out the package.

Game Information:
The A6 ignores modifiers due to weather due to it's supurb hadling.
 

BENTLEY TURBO R RT
Like all the Bentleys, the R has a Brooklands turbocharger.  It also has 17 inch wheels, a 400 horsepower V8,
and fantastic braking ability.  It is a luxury car with racing heritage, and it shows when one stomps the accelerator with a
0-60 time of 5.8 seconds!  Leather, walnut trim, and a host of seat, window, radio, and cruise controls round out the package.

Q Evaluation:
The Bentley has always been the best-made British car throughout history.  Forget Rolls-Royce...Bentley will give you
the same exclusivity, dent your pocketbook just as hard, and give the same comfort and style.  It will also give better
performance and less maintenance headaches.  007
 

BMW Z3
When it first came out, the Z3 had an anemic four cylinder engine.  However, that has been solved with the inclusion of a 2.9 liter
or optional 240 hp 3.2 liter inline-6.  the rear is very light and subject to fishtailing during turns, but with practice, this can be turned
into an advantage.  The roadster is very popular world-wide.

Game Information:
The Z3 gains a +1 in Quick Turn or Double Back maneuvers.  The 6-cylinder has a redline of 3
and a top speed of 135.

Q Evaluation:
Our Z3 is, remarkably, still with us, despite having been loaned to 007.  We had one of the original four-
cylinders, but upgraded to a new six.  Still, she's fun to drive and the added amenities are fun, too.  Q
 

BMW Z8
BMW's modern take on the 507 of their racing hey-day.  The 5.0 liter V-8 produces 395 hp, and the weight distribution
18-inch tires, and spring strut/rack & pinion suspension give this car a nimbleness not found in the Z3.
The cabin is a bit sparse, to recapture the old 507 interior, but the modern amenities are still there.

Game Information:
The Z8 receives a +1 EF on Quick turns and Doulbe Back maneuvers.

Q Evaluation:
This car was probably the best roadster we've had since the DB5s.  It was, sadly, loaned to 007 for a mission in
Central Asia.  It is my understanding it had a run-in with a giant buzzsaw.  Q
 

BMW 750iL
The 750iL incorporates the most modern options in automobiles:  ABS brakes, head protection systems like front and side airbags,
remote locking/alarm/ignition systems, and a host of other comfort-oriented touches.  Now the flagship of the BMW line, it
packs a V-8 or optional V-12 engine.

Game Information:
The safety features in the 750iL give passengers an extra -1 wound result in an accident.

Q Evaluation:
The switch to BMWs was originally due to budget constraints, but we found the vehicles surprisingly well-made for our
work.  The 750iL was a piece du resistance for us.  She had more technological advancements packed into her than any
other Q-branch car.  Of course, 007 requisitioned her; alas, we hardly knew her.  Q
 

CADILLAC SEVILLE STS
Incorporating a quieter, stiffer body, the impressive V-8 Northstar system, variable-ration sterring, trailing-arm rear suspension,
and adding comfort and safety features like side-impact air bags, eight controllable seat positions on the seats and more, the
Seville is more than able to meet the challenge of BMW, Mercedes, and Jaguar for less money.

Q Evaluation:
All around, one of the most comfortable cars I've ever ridden in.  Blinding fast acceleration and top speed; incomparable
handling.  To top it off, it's got the comfort and performance of a Bentley, and it's still less than a
Benz or BMW even here in England!  After some feelings of treason, I traded my old Aston-Martin DBS for the STS.  Q
 

CHEVROLET CORVETTE
The ultimate production performance car to some, the fifth generation Corvette adds something unheard of in it's
predecessors...a big trunk!  Handling, power, and looks are -- as always -- up there with the big sports marques.

Q Evaluation:
An American agent I know has one of these.  I challenged him to a race on the back roads near Oxford.  the DB5
was able to outmaneuver the Corvette, but only just; the Chevy, however, had power where it counts on the straightaways.
Some days you're just not fast enough.  007
 

CHRYSLER SEBRING LXI
On top of leather interiors, traction control, cruise control, etc. the Sebring adds great styling and a strong V-6 engine.  To top it
off, Chrysler puts a bit more effort into this car than most of their line and together with great looks makes it popular in the States.

Q Evaluation:
Who's the market for the Sebring?  Here's a hint...one of the colors is 'caffe latte'.  Cpt. Michael Roberts.
 

FERRARI 456GT
Both the convertible and hardtop versions are sharp-looking and pack a V-12 engine delivering a fantastic 440 hp.
the car is a 2+2, but the rear seat is more of a bench -- short people only need apply.  And rick people, as well --
the insurance rates are extortionate.

Q Evaluation:
There's an American agent with one of these...a female assassin.  The car is fast, pretty, expensive, and if you're not
careful, deadly.  Like the owner.  007
 

FERRARI 550 MARANELLO
Yet another release from the boys in Milan, this is the epitome of Ferrari workmanship:  a V-12 front engine with mind-
boggling performance and comfort for two, wrapped in a beautiful Pininfarina body.

Q Evaluation:
A wonderous piece from Ferrari!  These cars are instant classics:  expensive, brutally fast, and pretty, but with
no real practical value.  Still...I want one!!!  Cpt. Michael Roberts.
 

FORD MUSTANG GT
The GT version of the Mustang delivers 250 hp from it's 4.6 liter V-8.  Standard equipment included cassette & CD player,
air bags, and A/C.  It is one of the most popular cars in America for it's power -- though there are more powerful 'pony' cars --
and it's low cost.  The new suspension given the 1999 version eliminates the tendency of the Mustang to fishtail in wet weather.

Q Evaluation:
I loved the original Mustang and I drove my 1966 model until a recent car accident.  The new Mustang is a bit too square
for me; I like the 1998 model.  I added the new suspension from the 1999; it bolts right in.  It's a fair replacement for
my old 'Stang.  Dr. Walter Corbett.
 

FORD TAURUS
One of the most popular mid-size cars in the world, the Taurus is a reliable vehicle with room for five, a large trunk, and a
powerful Duratec V-6 engine.

Q Evaluation:
The Taurus is a nice family car, but it's also the perfect surveillence car, due to it's commonness and sedate appearance.

HONDA ACCORD
The most popular family car in the world, the Accord is a reliable, handsome, and safe car; owner satisfaction is second only
to Mercedes-Benz.  The inline-four cylinder engine is quite powerful for it's size, delivering 150 hp.

Q Evaluation:
It's popular, it's economical, and it's well-made.  However, I never really liked the styling of japanese cars and they're far
too expensive for the amount of car you get.  Q
 

INFINITY Q45
A finely made luxury car with leather interiors and wood paneling, a big V-8 engine, and superb noise control.

Q Evaluation:
Some Q45's have been used by the Japanese intelligence service as diplmatic vehicles.  these cars, apparently,
do very well with the particular modifications that are required to protect VIPs.  Q
 

JAGUAR XK8
The XK8 has been a long time coming and the successor to the XKE doesn't let one down.  Built on the same platform as the
Aston-Martin DB7, this is the first Jaguar to come down the line without the problems expected from a Jaguar: mysterious oil
leaks, quirky timing, and the regular electrical malfunction.  Allegedly a 2+2, the back seat is neith comfortable or large.

Game information:
An additional +1EF for Quick Turn and double Back maneuvers.

Q Evaluation:
The XK8 is wonderful!  A former bopyfriend had the XKE and I fell in love with it (but not him.)  the XK8 is even
more exciting, delivering the same performance and comfort as the DB7, but at half the price.  It's prettier, too.

LAMBORGHINI DIABLO
What to say?  Lamborghini's reputation is built on ultra-powerful, ultra-fast, perfromance cars.  The Diablo is a noble
follow-up to the Countach, carrying a V-12 engine that delivers 492 hp.  For acceleration, maneuverability, and sheer
driving delight, the Diablo is hard to beat.

Game Information:
The Diablo receives a +1 to Escape/Flee maneuvers, but a +1 wond result to anyone in an accident with in one.

Q Evaluation:
Wow!  Aptly named, the Diablo packs a hell of a punch.  Acceleration is second only to the old Cobra 427 or the new
Shelby Series 1.  It is a delight to drive on the autobahn...the only place you really can drive it.  Between the cost of the
car and insurance, you had best have no financial worries.  007
 

LEXUS SC400
Like it's competition -- the Mercedes-Benz 500, the BMW 5-series, and the Jaguar XJ8 -- the Lexus delivers performance
and a wealth of comfort.  It's smart looks, fantastic production values, and high owner satisfaction make the SC400 one of the
best luxury cars in the world.

Q Evaluation:
The SC400 is a great car -- quiet, fast, and very comfortable.  We finished work on an SC400 for a highly-placed
government official and found the designers at Lexus interested in assisting.  they adopted some of our ideas for a
possible diplomatic protection version of the SC400.  Dr. Elaine Turner
 

MAZDA MIATA/EURO MX-5
The Miata was the retro sportster that spawned the Z3 and Boxster.  It evokes the Austin-Healeys in looks and enjoyment.
The lightweight body makes the best of the inline-4 engine and small wheelbase delivers great handling and acceleration.

Game Information:
The Miata receives a +1EF on Quick turn/Double Back maneuvers.

Q Evaluation:
A neat little car.  I enjoyed the Miata when I drove it on vacation in Italy.  During the drive from Switzerland to Turin,
I got challenged to a race by a fellow in a Testarossa.  I was vastly outpowered, but the light, nimble Miata allowed me
to make the most of the winding mountain roads to win the race.  Cpt. Michael Roberts.
 

MERCEDES-BENZ E420
The E420 is the newest of the Benz lineup.  It has a retro look in the round headlights and squarish body, and adds
the usual refinements one expects from Benz.  It comes with an opitonal V-8 or diesel inline-6 engine.

MERCEDES-BENZ SL500
A standard for the wealthy corporate type or as an embassy vehicle in countries around the world.  The SL500
brings plenty of power from a V-8 or optional V-12 engine and combines it with quiet, comfort, and reliability.
Diplomatic units can be gotten with factory installed kevlar/metal linings for the passenger compartments, as well as
the undercarriage, and Armorlite auto glass.

Q Evaluation:
the SL500 is used as an embassy car by nearly every continental and Middle Eastern country I know of.  We
also use them, though we have been switching to BMW since they won a government contract.  I personally like
the SL500 more than the BMW 7-series.  Cpt. Michael Roberts
 

PORSCHE BOXSTER
Porsche's answer to the Miata and Z3, the Boxster is a modern version of the old Sportster 354.  Small, peppy,
and pretty, the Boxster is a heart-stopper.  Tall people may find it uncomfortable (but less so than the Z3)
and the trunk is tiny, but the car is easily one of the best of the new roadsters.

Game Information:
The Boxster gets an additional +1EF on Quick Turns.

Q Evaluation:
If this had been out when the Goldeye mission took place, I'd have requisitioned it instead of the Z3 for
modification.  The Boxster is a wonderful little car.  Q
 

TOYOTA CAMRY DX
One of the world's best selling cars, with reason.  The Camry is well-made, economical, comfortable, and attractive.

Q Evaluation:
Nice ride, well-made, but I still prefer European styling.  Q
 

SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, TRUCKS, & VANS
 
 

CHEVROLET BLAZER
A popular SUV, the Blazer has 4-wheel drive, a V-6 engine, and lots of room.  They are well made for both on and
off-road driving.  The Blazer is used by many American and Canadian law enforcement agencies for carrying officials,
prisoner transport, or off-road use in remote areas.

Q Evaluation:
The Blazer is used by a lot of American agencies for everything from VIP protection to surveillence.  It is a
good, all-around 4x4.  Q
 

CHEVROLET S10/GMC SONOMA/ISUZU HOMBRE
These GM trucks are all about the same in performance and price; styling differs slightly.  They have a V-6 or V-4
engine -- the V-6 delibvering good power, while the V-4 is anemic -- extended cabs have a third door option, and
noise and ride have been upgraded to approximate a passenger car.

Q Evaluation:
I'll never understand the American fascination with these things.  The S10 is a good vehicle for a workman,
or someone with the need to regularly carry cargo.  But as an everyday vehicle...?  Freud at work, if you ask me.

DODGE RAM
Still the macho man of the full-size-pickup segment, rough-and-tough Ram can also double as a mobile office.
The front seat is divided into a 40/20/40 split. The center section is a giant  fold-down armrest that will accommodate
a telephone, a fax machine, and a laptop computer. The cab is voluminous inside, and much of the room is behind
the front seat, where hooks hold storage nets and racks. The 1500 model comes with a 6.5-foot or an 8.0-foot bed.
The 2500 and 3500 have greater load-carrying capacity and come with 8.0-foot beds. All 3500s have
               dual rear wheels and standard four-wheel ABS.  Buyers can choose among five engines, ranging from
a 175-hp 3.9-liter V-6 to a 310-hp 8.0-liter  V-10. Optional rear demi-doors come on both sides of Quad Cab models.

Game Information:
The above information represents the 1500 model with a V-6 engine.  3500's receive a +1 on Force and Trick maneuvers
involving the use of the truck's towing capacity as well as a RED of 4.

Q Evaluation:
There's a Canadian agent I knew who had the V-10 version of this.  the thing seemed to be able to pull,
carry, or push anything, as well as handle off-road situations like nothing I've seen.  To top it off, it was
comfortable!  And with almost no modifications, we were able to conduct a mission in the middle of the Yukon.

FORD EXPLORER
Similar to the Blazer of Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Explorer is the best selling SUV in the world.
It employs a V-6 or V-8 engine, has all the comforts people have begun to expect in these types of vehicles.

Q Evaluation:
The Explorer is a great off-road vehicle.  I drove it in Mexico, where I was working with DEA and
the Mexican federales  It takes quite a bit of ounishment.  004
 

RANGE ROVER
The Range Rover is the first and best of the SUVs.  It combines all the qualities that have made the marque a
mainstay in Africa and the Middle East with amenities like A/C, CD/cassette, cup holders, adjustable seat positions,
and other things that would have been unheard of in the veldt of twenty years ago.

Game Information:
The Range Rover ignores terrain and weather modifiers, plus gains a +1 Trick maneuver for
off-road conditions.

Q Evaluation:
Great utility vehicles, the Range Rover and the other Land Rovers can get into a lot of cagey places.
I bought a new one to replace the 1960's era one I had before; I use for sleeping when on the continent...
it's cheaper and often more comfortable than a hotel room.  Our SIS stations and consulates in Africa and south

VOLKSWAGEN EUROVAN MV
This is a popular vehicle in Europe.  Powered by an inline five cylinder, it had plenty of room for cargo or children.
Safety and reliability are good, too.

Q Evaluation:
We have a few of these for surveillence platforms, but we still prefer the Repetti & Montiglio
vans.  Q
 
 

MOTORCYCLES

BMW R 1200 C
Carrying a 1200cc boxer twin engine, drive train transmission, and anti-drive telelever suspension, the R1200 is
a top-notch touring bike with the familiar high-quality BMW workmanship that categorizes their cycles.

Q Evaluation:
I happened across one of these while visiting Elliot Carver in Saigon.  the BMW was well-balanced and maneuverable,
allowing me to escape a rather hostile situation, even handcuffed to a Chinese agent accompanying me at the time.

BUELL X1 LIGHTNING
An American-made bike, the X1 is a challenger to the likes of Ducati and Suzuki in racing bikes.  The
engine is a big V-twin four-cylinder.  there is a huge Showa shock absorber and Buell muffler encased in a
spoiler under the engine.  The computer monitoring the fuel injection and exhaust is the same as on the Ducatis and
adjusts the injection pattern as performance changes.

Game Information:
The rider gains a +1EF to Quick Turn/Double Back after a successful STR check at EF5,but there is a -1EF to the
safety check if trying this.

Q Evalation:
I'm really not a motorcycle man, but the Buell Lightning is still enough to attract attention.  It is an excellent
piece of work -- well thought out and executed.  Q
 

DUCATI 916
The quintessential Italian motorcycle, the Ducati is a true racing machine.  With a 916cc V-twin four stroke engine,
the cycle can go from 0-60 in 2.7 seconds and do the quarter mile in 10.76 seconds.  Fuel mileage, despite the high
perfromance is still 40 mpg!  Tight turning, however, reqires one to 'hump' the bike; that is, pull up sharply on the handlebars
pop the front tire slighty off the ground.

Game Information:
The rider gains a +1 to Quick Turn/double Back maneuvers if successful on a EF5 STR check, but has a -1EF to any
safety checks while performing these maneuvers.

Q Evaluation:
The Ducati line has been impressive; all are fast, maneuverable, and surprisingly reliable.  Q
 

MOTO GUZZI V10 CENTAURO SPORT
Mandello's answer to the Ducati and Buell, the V10 Centauro is a V-twin engined cycle named after the mythic
half man/half horse.  Monoshock suspension gives the rider a smooth ride over good road, but a bouncy one over
rough terrain.  It even has a small trunk behind the seat -- large enough for a small handbag.

Q Evaluation:
The power's all over the place on this bike, giving you a great response time and top end, but a quirky delivery in traffic.
 the shocks toss you around on bumpy road, but other than that it handles well despite it's weight.  Cpt. Michael Roberts
 

BOEING 777 200
The latest Boeing airliner, the 777 is a marvel of modern aircraft.  The computer-controlled navigation, cellular
communications for all the seats, and wide, comfortable seating makes the airplane popular with pilots and airlines.
the 777 has a ceiling of 46,000 feet.

Q Evaluation:
The 777 practically flies herself.  the sat nav system, laser ranging and altimeter, and computer-assisted
controls make her a real joy to fly.  Cpt. Michael Roberts
 

BRITISH AEROSPACE/HAWKER HARRIER II
The first and best VTOL jet is popular with NATO forces, being used by the Royal British and Spanish Navies and the USMC.
The vectored thrust allows the Harrier to operate nearly everywhere in the world, but the VTOL launches drop the range
of the plane dramatically.  The Harrier is not supersonic and has a ceiling of 56000 feet.

Game Information:
The Harrier can carry a total of four weapons loads on her wings:  TOW systems or missles.  She is also equipped
with a 20mm cannon in the nose standard.
Harriers gain a +1EF on Trick maneuvers, including hovering, and a +1EF on Double Back maneuvers.

Q Evaluation:
We've used the Harrier quite a bit to drop agents into hot areas, as well as to lift out defectors like
General Koskov.  Q
 

CESSNA CITATION X
This is a twin-engined civilian aircraft with an electronic avionics package that includes satellite navigation, and digital,
as well as analog instrumentation.  Ceiling is 43000 feet and the cabin is pressurized.

FAIRCHILD REPUBLIC A-10 THUNDERBOLT
Though out of production and a plan to phase it out of the US arsenal, the A-10 is the best ground assault aircraft
currently available.  Slow and sluggish, the A-10 can carry an amazing load of weaponry and is capable of inflicting
terrifying amounts of damage.  It can also take it:  the A-10 can lose over 20% of it's fuselage and flight surfaces and still
fly!  The ceiling of the A-10 is 34700 feet.

Game Information:
The A-10s armor reduced damage by eight levels and absorbs one wound result.  the safety roll for the A-10 is +1EF.

Q Evaluation:
I watched these things do their job on the 'Highway of Death' during the Gulf War.  Between the bombs and missiles,
 and the 30mm Avenger cannon, the A-10s were able to destroy several miles of vehicles with no effort.  It was
an awesome display of firepower.  007
 

LOCKHEED F-117A
This plane came to prominence during the Gulf War, when its stealth capabilities alowed them to operate in the Iraqi
theater almost undetected and untracked by Iraqi air defense.  Its ceiling is a little over 50,000 feet.  Among the elements
of the plane's arsenal:  radar and laser guided missilies, as well as 'smart bombs' that are optically controlled by the
bombadier/navigator.

Game Information:
The Stealth fighter has a 15% chance of being detected by enemy radar.

Q Evaluation:
The stealth technology used in this plane was used by media mogul Elliot Carver to near disastrous effect.
We have toyed with the radar absorbant.scattering qualities for tanks and hovercraft.  Q
 
 

PROP AIRCRAFT

LOCKHEED C-130 HERCULES
The workhorse of the American armed forces, the C-130 is used as a platform for paradrop operations, as well as
cargo and troop transport.  It is robust, heavy, but has an amazingly short take-off and landing distance.  The C-130
is also loud, uncomfortable (there are no troop seats in the rear), and there is little pressurization or heating in the
craft.  Ceiling is 33000 feet.  It has a ramp at the back that can be lowered to load vehicles, equipment, or allow
safe exit for parachutists.  It has four prop engines and an impressive fuel capacity.  It is not uncommon for the plane
to carry more than 80 people in the rear, plus gear and the occasional vehicle.

Q Evaluation:
The Hercules is a top-rate aircraft for nearly every kind of insertion operation, as well as light to
medium load hauling.  Universal Exports uses them to move gear for HMG around.  Cpt. Michael Roberts
 
 

ROTARY AIRCRAFT
 

AEROSPATIALE SA365 DAUPHIN
The Dauphin helicopter is very versitile and comes in several configurations, allowing for land and sea use.
It is powered by a twin turbine engine, comes with a loading winch in a retractable cowling above the starboard-
side sliding door, pontoon/wheel landing gear, and hardpoints for weaponry.  The Dauphin is used by most NATO
naval forces, and the US Coast Guard.  It has a ceiling of 14200 feet.

Q Evaluation:
Felix Leiter and I hitched a ride on one of these to capture drug king Sanchez in the Florida Keys.  The
winch came in handy to stop the fellow's escape.  It also provided a good base for a parachute drop into
Felix and Delia's wedding in Key West.  007
 

BELL 212 'HUEY'
Familiar to most peoplethe world over, this is the latest version of the venerable Huey of Vietnam fame.
The big airframe provides transport for up to 10 people and has hardpoints for weapons pods or cargo/emergency
carry.  There are also mounts for machineguns in the sliding doors on either side of the craft.  The helicopter is
tough, versitile, and reliable,as well as omnipresent throughout the world.  Ceiling is 12,000 feet.

Q Evaluation:
The Huey's been through a lot of changes since the 204 of the Vietnam campaign.  The 212 has a twin
turbine to power it, improved controls, and safety features that make it one of the safest choppers in the
world.  Q
 

EUROCOPTER TIGER
The Tiger is the latest development in helicopters from the firm that used to be Aerospatiale.  With two MTR
390 engines, the vehicle is designed for air-to-air combat or medium ground support -- the same niche as the Apache
AH-64.  It mounts a 30mm cannon, two 68mm submunitions pods, and two Mistral missiles.  Some versions were

Game Information:
The Tigers can ignore the effects of EMP.

Q Evaluation:
A Tiger was stolen by the Janus group during the 'Goldeneye' mission.  They used the chopper's
EMP hardened systems to escape Severnaya when they fired the first Goldeneye satellite.  These are
robust vehicles, but not quite up to the standard of the Apache.  Q
 

HUGHES 500D
This small helicopter is a mainstay in tourist trips and traffic reporting, but is also a fine combat aircraft.  The small, ovoid
frame is very maneuverable and was originally developed as a ground attack vehicle during the Vietnam war.  Responsive,
fast, and incredibly safe, the 500D is an excellent craft for almost any kind of application.  It can carry five, including the pilot.

Game Information:
The 500D gets a +1EF to quick turn/double back maneuvers, as well as a +1EF to safety rolls.

Q Evaluation:
The 'flying Easter egg' I've heard this called.  The 500D is a great little aircraft for surveillence, quick jaunts,
or for ground assault.  I rode in one during a tour of Hawaii.  Q
 

MISCELLANEOUS AIRCRAFT
 

GOODYEAR ZEPPELIN SKYTACUALR AIRSHIP
The Goodyear blimp is a familiar sight at sporting events, but it is also used in weather research, surveillence,
and search/rescue operations.  the mobility of the blimp is mostly hampered by the landing procedures, which rely on a large
ground crew to secure the morring lines of the ship.  the engines provide vectored thrust and the hull is a polymer that gains
lift and shape from the pressure of its lifting gas, helium.  they can carry four passengers and a decent bit of cargo.
Ceiling is about 3000 feet of so.

Game Information:
Blimps receive a -2EF to perform quick turns and may not perform double back maneuvers; they receive +1EF to
all maneuvers but Force..
All damage classes are dropped by eight when attacking a blimp due to the size and nature of its hull.

Q Evaluation:
Useless things, in my opinion.  he navy uses them for antisub work and they have seen a lot of
sucess in that capacity, but their day is done.  Q
 

ZEPPELIN INDUSTRIES N-CLASS AIRSHIP
The newest innovation from the originators of rigid airships, the N-230 is the first in a plan by the compnay to
return to lighter-than-air craft.  Using advanced materials and avionics to make the ship lighter, stronger, and easier to
use, the N-class uses fibreglass gass cells to hold the lifting helium, a carbon-fibre frame secured with kelvar lines,
and a tedlar hull -- all load bearing.  the mooring process, the most personnel and time intense part of airship operations,
has been simplified by a winch-operated line at the center of the ship's gravity under the gondola to provide a stable point
of connection to the ground.  A tripod landing gear frame allows the airship to rotate around the mooring line and withstand
windy weather.  Vectored thrust allows better maneuverability and the engines provide a good bit of airspeed; much more so
than the non-rigid Goodyear blimps.  It carries up to 40 passengers and several tons of cargo.

Game Information:
N-class airships have a -2EF to qiuck turns and cannot perform double backs.  Howevre, the rigid, LTA nature of the
ship makes it extremely safe:  +2EF for all safety rolls.  Damaging the airship is also difficult due to her size and the nature of
her lift; damage levels not from explosives are reduced by eight levels and abosrb one wound result.

Q Evaluation:
I truly don't understand the fascination with these craft.  Yet the Zeppelin company has turned out a well-though
out, superbly constructed ship designed for day trips and the tourist market.  The rigid hull makes it more
sturdy and safe than blimps and the lifting capacity is impressive.  Q
I was on the maiden tourist trip of the ship.  It's beautiful, quiet, comfortable, and the low altitude of travel makes for
a spectacular view.  I'd love to see a cruise ship version, like the Hindenbrg with this new technology.

ABEKING & RASMUSSEN SAR35M
The SAR is a German-made fast strike vehicle used by many coast guard and naval forces around the world.
the 35m (106') boat can be adapted for helicopter landing on it's afterdeck or a light raiding craft.  It is designed
with a shallow-water ops with a draught of 2-4m and a bea of eight.  Standard armament is a pair of 30mm AA
guns on the foredeck and the upperdeck wheelhouse, or two 40mm guns and four surface-to-surface missiles
like the Exocet or Penguin.  Propulsion is delivered by either gas turbine or diesel engines, or a hydrojet system,
according to the role selected.  Standard crew complement is twelve.

Q Evaluation:
An excellent coastal defense or insurgency boat.  Our SBS boys use an SAR35 regularly.  007
 

CHRIS-CRAFT 300 CHRIS CAT
With its catamaran-style hull, the Chris Cat is one of the fastest speedboats on the market.  Thirty-seven feet
long, the boat is big enough for two to live comfortably on, though cabin height is low due to the sape of the hull

Q Evaluation:
Impressive numbers, speed-wise.  it was a Chris-Cat that killed the husband of Princess Caroline in
Monaco durng a race.  The boat's speed made it aerodynamically upstable and put it end over end.  Q
 

CIGARETTE TOPGUN 2000
The most famous of racing boat anmes, the Cigarettes are large and powerful.  They are driven by
dual Evinrude engines, are stylish and popular with the moneyed sets.  The Cigarette 33-38' can house a person
comfortably, two less so.  Performance is about the same as the Fountain and Wellcraft boats of the same size.

Q Evaluation:
Cigarettes are fun to drive, but a bit cramped to live on. 007
 

MAGNUM 63
As much a yacht as a speedboat, the Magnum provides comfort and elegance, while the Mercury engines
provide outstanding speed.  the 63' hull gives room to house four easily and most have a common room/galley,
as well as a convertible sundeck behind the driver's compartment.

Q Evaluation:
The Americans use a few of these in port towns around the world to keep an eye on drug dealers and
terrorists.  They are large, comfortable, and quick.  007
 

ZEPPELIN COMMANDO/ZODIAC FC470
These are the classic inflatable commando boats.  Both are about six mteres long and can carry about
twelve men plus their gear.  the outboard motores are usually Mercruisers or Evinrude, and the size of
the motor can give the raft anywhere from 12-30 knots of speed.  They can be inflated and the engine
mounted in water after a paradrop in thrre-five minutes under ideal conditions.

Q Evaluation:
I've been around these things a lot.  They say that you can mount inflate the boat and mount the engine in about
five minutes under ideal conditions.  Those conditions never exist in my experience.  As an ex-SEAL captain
friend of my once said, "Mr. Murphy comes alomg for every paradrop of a Zodiac."  Actually, he used more
colorful language.  007

ANTEN-EYE AE60
A CCD micro-camera system that is installed into the antenna or other handy location of a vehicle, the
Anten-Eye can be monitored and manipulated remotely.  It can broadcast to an internal moniotr (as per
Tracking Screen) or to a hand-held Watchman, computer, or any other display device.
Costs 1/2 structure point to install; PER 1 to notice the camera.

ANTI-THEFT DEVICES/ALARMS
No one really cares when it goes off, unless they're sleeping, but it takes money off your insurance.
Other systems like the STOP allow the owner to be notified by an alarm on their keychain.  The
STOP system also allows the owner to call their car phone and enter a code (usually STOP) to shut the car down
remotely until the reactiviation code is givien.
Costs 1/2 STR to install.

ELECTRIC DEFENSE SYSTEM
Keyed to the alarm system, the EDS protects the car by delivereing 35,000 volts of electricity to anyone attempting
to jimmy the lock or handling the door handles or trunk latch.
Costs 1 STR to install.

EMERGENCY OXYGEN SUPPLY
Enough air for an hour is provided by cannisters under the seats and activated by the flip of a switch under the dash.
The oxygen can be used to create positive pressure, as well, keeping the vehicle water or air-tight for that time.

GROUND EFFECT SKIRT/PROPELLER
When deployed, these modifications turn the vehicle into a hovercraft that can travel over most
terrain, including water.  the propeller is run off of a special drivetrain and gives a top speed of 40 mph.
Costs 2 STR to install.

HEADS-UP DISPLAY
This version replaces the original Q Manual HUD:  nearly every kind of information can be displayed --
a night sight driving picture, target or tactical information, even sat nave displays.  Costs 1/2 STR point
and negates inclement or night driving modifiers.  (not both!)

RUN-FLAT TIRES
these tires ignore the effects of damage for up to 100 miles at highway speeds.  They achieve this through
a strenghtened tire wall to prevent collapse of the tire, despite the loss of pressure.  Only a KILL result
will destroy the tire.

RAM BUMPERS
Specially designed ram bumpers provide protection to the car and its inhabitants in a collision.  Any damage
suffered in a collison head on or form the rear (if one is installed there) has the wound result lowered by
two.

REMOTE DRIVING SYSTEM
A computer-controlled system that allows the driver to control the car from a remote station -- like an R/C
model car controller or a cellular phone.

SATELLITE NAVIGATION SYSTEM
this entry supercedes the original Q Manual system:  Commercial or military GPS system gives location is
lat/long or military grid.  The unit is usuall dash mounted and connected to a computer map display.

TEAR GAS PROTECTION SYSTEM
Rigged to the alarm system, the TGPS can also be triggered remotely by the driver in the even of an emergency.
the Tear gas cannisters in the wheel wells go off, surrounding the vehicle and several feet around it with concentrated
CS gas.  the effects last for as many rounds as the WIL susccess of the victims vs. EF4.

TRACKING SCREEN/MONITOR
This entry supercedes the original Q Manual:  Allows the occupants to view information -- either from a
